Some of us channel members have been messing around in the beta for the new MMO Aion.  We have basically come to the conclusion that it looks very creative and fun, and many of us are going to try it out.  The official release for the US version is on September 22, 2009.   We have all pre-ordered the game, and along with that, we got a free code that allows us to participate in the beta, from June to August.

So far, for me, the game has some surprisingly fun features.  I love the free exploration - it was one of the reasons I enjoyed World of Warcraft for so long.  On top of that, the character creation is so uniquely customizable, that I enjoyed testing out different looks for hours, just to see what weird creations I could come up with, from cute to sexy to monstrous.  I made a teeny, tiny priest, and a gigantic, barbarian Amazon warrior.  The closest I've seen to anything this customizable was when I played Age of Conan when it was first released.  This is a hundred times better!

If you would like to join us, be sure to get the US version of the game.  We have not yet decided on whether to play primarily as Elyos or Asmodean, but the group seems to be leaning towards Asmodean.  When we decide on a server, we will post it up here for friends to find us and join in.
